Whither the Geek?
It’s been several months since our last post, and you’re probably wondering what happened to the Resident Geek. He served up several piping hot portions of GTD product reviews for you, and then, as mysteriously as he came, he vanished! Right?
The truth is, our original Resident Geek hung up his nerdsmithing hat so he could go on a volunteer service trip. To Chile. For two years. We kid you not—what a guy, huh?
But all’s not lost. You won’t have to wait two years for another review on the latest tech advancements in GTD. You see, fortunately for you, the Res Geek is really more of an honorary title around here–kind of like the Dread Pirate Roberts from “The Princess Bride.” We just had to put his blog on hold while we searched for a replacement worthy of taking on his mantle.
Several months later, here’s the good news: the Geek is back. So what can we expect from the new RG? Look for fresh GTD reviews (like this one already posted on Relenta), trendy tech tips, more helpings of advice. You can sign up to receive all of these by clicking the button of your choice at the upper right, and get a powerful dose of productivity each time you log into your inbox or feed reader.
Welcome to Resident Geek 2.0!
P.S. Oh, and here’s one more new addition: the Lingo List
Not familiar yet with all the geeky jargon? Check out the lingo below for some quick definitions.
GTD: Acronym for “Getting Things Done.” GTD software helps you do exactly that: get “things” done, whatever “things” may be for you.
Feed reader: Client software or Web application that collects things like blogs, podcasts, and vlogs in a single location for easy viewing. In case you were wondering, the Geek’s favorite is Google Reader.
Nerdsmithing: What the Geek does! Recommendations, reviews, hints, pointers, support, suggestions … basically, the zenith of geekdom.
